Nanjing Kangni Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “KN”) is an R&D and manufacturing base for the localization of Door Systems for Railway Vehicles in China. It’s also a major hi-tech enterprise awarded the title of "Demonstration Project of State Hi-tech Industrialization". Early in the year 2007, its founder was conferred by National Development and Reform Commission the honor of “Advanced Individuals in the Localization of Mass Transit”.

KN takes it upon itself to boost the progress of modernization of the equipment for Chinese mass transit industry. KN promoted its independent innovation ability by means of original innovation, integrated innovation and re-innovation after introducing, digesting and absorbing external resources, which contributes to setting up a domestic first-rate R&D and manufacturing base for the equipment for Railway Transportation in Nanjing, a well-known ancient capital in China steeped in history. KN has boosted its manufacturing capacity to an annual output of 10,000 sets main line door systems and 10,000 sets mass transit door systems as well.

Among the KN products supplied to the domestic and world market are the door system for main line railway and for mass transit vehicle, interior fittings for mass transit vehicle as well as platform safety (screen) door system for metro etc. Currently, KN have a domestic market share in terms of main line railway and mass transit of more than 40% and 50% for the door systems with its own independent Intellectual Property Right. Among those new varieties for main line door system, 80% are developed and supplied by KN, which justifies its reputation of “Door No.1 of railway transport in China”.

Taking advantage of Technical Center of Province Level and Engineering Center, KN have established a perfect technical innovation system and also have considerable technical talents at its disposal. KN always aims at achieving and mastering state of the art technology of Railway Transportation equipment as well as developing custom designed new products to meet the demands of KN customers. The electrically controlled and pneumatically driven sliding plug door for highland train, electrical bi-parting sliding plug door and external tightness door for mass transit vehicle etc. developed and manufactured by KN have all been well received by KN 's customers both at home and abroad. KN has become a Class A supplier of the internationally renowned carbuilder Alstom in France, and become a preferred supplier in China for Siemens and Bombardier.
